  • The Nominee maintains the "gatekeeper" function of the MDCHD STD Program that treats over 2000 clients monthly and the largest STD program in the country.

  • Ensure that the STD program is accessible to clients who come to the clinic and transmits this means of dealing with the public to staff
Increased Productivity, Revenues, Improved Processes
  • The Nominee set goals in capturing collections for services at the clinic
  • Reimbursement was previously lost to the health department paid through Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and insurance co-payments
  • Succeeded in this effort in both cash collections and third-party billing
  • In the first five months of this fiscal year, the Nominee increased Medicaid billing by 53%, earning the department an additional $62,000.00
  • Note this was for five months of this fiscal year compared to the entire previous fiscal year
  • Nominee's efforts are projected to double collections from all sources for this fiscal year compared to last year

  • The Nominee works as a part of a team with other professionals in STD at four STD clinic sites, often under less than ideal conditions

  • The Nominee has organized the STD Clinic clerical staff of 10 to 12 into a working unit of individuals that are cross-trained in all STD clerical functions
