- The Nominee maintains the "gatekeeper" function of the MDCHD STD Program that treats over 2000 clients monthly and the largest STD program in the country.

- Focus on client satisfaction at all levels of service in the clinic
- Ensure that the STD program is accessible to clients who come to the clinic and transmits this means of dealing with the public to staff
- The Nominee set goals in capturing collections for services at the clinic
- Reimbursement was previously lost to the health department paid through Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and insurance co-payments
- Succeeded in this effort in both cash collections and third-party billing
- In the first five months of this fiscal year, the Nominee increased Medicaid billing by 53%, earning the department an additional $62,000.00
- Note this was for five months of this fiscal year compared to the entire previous fiscal year
- Nominee's efforts are projected to double collections from all sources for this fiscal year compared to last year
- The nominee's ability to follow financial aspect of the STD program is only surpassed by his/her management abilities
- Since becoming the Clerical Supervisor, the Nominee has instituted systems to ensure standardization of reception, registration, data entry and other clerical tasks
- The nominee has worked diligently to improve the client registration process
- This improvement has been critical to generating revenue, as well as insuring the accuracy of client data and chart information
- A system has been developed by the Nominee by which all clients are registered confidentially thereby verifying vital data and billing status
- The Nominee works as a part of a team with other professionals in STD at four STD clinic sites, often under less than ideal conditions
- Instills cooperation in her staff, so that a "pitch-in and get the job done" attitude prevails
- Consistently works on systems in the DTU/STD clinic in order to improve clinic functions, particularly as it relates to client service
- Examples: shorten waiting time, increase confidentiality, and improve clinic flow
- The Nominee has organized the STD Clinic clerical staff of 10 to 12 into a working unit of individuals that are cross-trained in all STD clerical functions
- This was essential since Nominee's staff fulfill a variety of clerical functions in the clinic and responsible for covering all four STD clinics
- The success of coverage has been effective in meeting all STD clerical functions
- The Nominee is genuinely concern for others in the work unit as above all serving clients
