Positive Impact on the Health of Residents and/or Visitors
  • The Nominee assisted by providing invaluable insight and feedback for a pilot program to bring HIV prevention, education and awareness to high risk students of a dance magnet program in Miami/Dade County.

  • Charged with developing new target communities to share the DOH prevention message to and as a result of individual's feedback about the unique character and target population of intervention

  • The Nominee provided excellent instruction and direction that contributed to the approval and implementation of the program for high risk students of the dance magnet program.
Increased Productivity, Revenues, Reduced Costs
  • The Nominee is responsible for documenting and printing certificates for individuals and organizations that have successfully completed trainings.

  • Network printer for printing dozens of certificates was used causing other printing in the office delays, jams or printing erroneous information.

  • The Nominee created a solution by having a dedicated printer for specialized printings, which reduced the amount of wasted paper that was created from other staff on the printer network sending documents while printing certificates.

  • So far this year, over 500 certificates of recognition have been prepared and an estimated cost savings of doing these in-house is between $1000.00 to $2,000.00 dollars.

  • The Nominee greets everyone each day with a positive smile and salutation.

  • Never too busy or annoyed with questions from co-workers or external customers.

  • Often asked by other staff to assist with "putting out fires."

  • Will drop what he/she is doing to accommodate or expedite a specific tasks and/or projects.

  • Staff seeks his/or insight and advice as well as opinions and input.

  • The Nominee works with individual requesting certificates for previous trainings that have not been to an update in over a year with compassion informing them they they need to come to an updated training before issuing a new or replacement certificate.

  • The Nominee ensures individuals with the Miami-Dade County Health Department and individuals coming to the department for training have the most up-to-date information about a particular topic in training given.

  • This is of critical importance especially when this program is responsible for training the leaders who are providing information to our community.

  • The Nominee embodies qualities of a world-class person of character and as an extension of that he/she is well suited to operate parallel to the objectives of the Miami-Dade county Department.

  • Demonstrates and brings to the forefront of our department the importance of how each of our individual efforts contributes to the department collective objective of preventing future cases of HIV infection in Miami/Dade County.

  • The Nominee focus on the little things that make this proposal of prevention work and makes sure that every participant in a DOH sponsored training about HIV prevention is recognized that makes his/her presence in our department a wonderful and essential part of helping us all meet our identified priorities of preventing new HIV cases in Miami/Dade a labor of love, of community and of teamwork.
