- The Nominee's successful closures with persons infected/and or suspected of being infected proved to be an asset to the program
- Exude him/her in a professional manner
- Versatile in providing technical assistance to staff
- Assisted in trainings (field assignments and working with the Dade County School System Lecture Tour)

- Assisted in a highly successful prostitution testing program with the Southern Team at the Quail Roost Clinic
- Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish) have proven to be a huge asset
- Currently, one of the few HSR who can effectively communicate with Spanish speaking clientele
- Interviews patients and assist them in managing their given infections
- Completes assigned tasks to ensure rapid epidemiology
- Provides technical assistance to clinical staff and maintains effective communications with the University of Miami Medical staff
Prevention
- Above-mentioned tasks ensure decreasing disease morbidity
- Women who are HIV infected and pregnant are the highest priority within the STD Program
- During this reporting period, Nominee was assigned two pregnant females with HIV
- Worked quickly and competently ensuring both women received follow-up care and treatment; thereby reducing their likelihood of prenatal transmission by 20%
Flexible/Dependable
- The Nominee consistently volunteered and worked on weekends with health screenings, and educational presentations
- Worked non-traditional work hours with a highly at-risk population to ensure that these individuals were notified of their HIV status (PTC) and provided HIV counseling to these infected patients partners in the field
Maintaining the Mission
- During the recent report, the Nominee interviewed (19) HIV infected cases (most on the team) with a (2.9) contact index, exceeding the State goal of (2.0)
- Obtained a(0.9) cluster index (State goal is 1.0)
- Assured that (1.5) partner notification index on all of these (19) cases
Supporting the Mission
- Furthermore, all 19 cases (100%) were interviewed within (3) days of assignment proving rapid approach to disease intervention
- When taking a rapid approach, we are helping to eliminate diseases in the community
- CDC sets the goal extremely high when it comes to interviewing patients with Syphilis and HIV
- The Nominee achieved a higher average of locatable partners named
- Insured their treatment
- Many of these individuals received preventative treatment which is what the program is all about
- These patients received treatment "BEFORE" the disease spread to them.
