Alicia Reyes-Perez, RN, BSN
Director, Public Health Preparedness

Alicia Reyes-Perez is the Director of the MDCHD Public Health Preparedness Program. The Program provides services to the county’s 2.5 million residents and visitors, and is responsible for the provisions of emergency support function 8 (health and medical services). The program is responsible for the management of vast amounts of information and activities during disasters, the coordination of medical resources, in all-hazards emergency or disaster events. And also for assisting in the evacuation of victims/residents out of the disaster areas. And for the provision special needs sheltering and care.

Alicia Reyes-Perez earned her nursing degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus in 1979. She has been an active nurse for 29 years. She is a United States honorable discharged veteran, who served with the Army and Air Force in the Nurse Corp. She has been an active member of many state and local organizations and workgroups in her specialized areas of work. She moved to Miami, Florida in 1992 where she began her Florida State employment as a nurse working in varies programs, School Health, Refugee Health, and currently Public Health Preparedness.
