Denise West, RD, LD/N, MPH
Director, WIC & Nutrition
Denise Duvall West is the Miami Dade County Health Department Public Health Nutrition Program Director. She is a Registered Dietitian, Licensed Nutritionist /Dietitian in the State of Florida and a Fellow of the American Dietetic Association (FADA). She earned a Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Mrs. West is the Senior Leader responsible for managing and providing leadership to the Miami-Dade County Health Department WIC and Nutrition Program (WIC), Health Management System Administration (HMS), Clinic Administrative Support Services (CASS) and the West Perrine and Little Haiti Health Centers. She directly supervises nine (9) FTE’s with overall programmatic responsibility for 195 FTE’s.
In the twenty nine years Mrs. West has worked at the MDCHD, she has participated and held leadership positions in community and professional organizations including the Miami Dietetic Association, the University of Florida Dade County Cooperative Extension Service Program, and the South Florida Perinatal Network. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Florida Public Health Association, and the National WIC Association.
