Onelia Fajardo, MPH, DR, BA
Director, Refugee Health Assessment Program
Onelia Fajardo is the Program Director for the Miami Dade County Health Department, Refugee Health Program. She also serves as a Senior Manager for the Organization. She holds a Doctorate Degree, in Business Administration, a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor in Health Services Administration.
Dr. Fajardo has over 33 years of experience in Public Health and Health Care Management. She is an adjunct professor for the Stempel School of Public Health, Florida International University, teaching Master level courses, in areas of Public Health and Health Management and Policy. Dr. Fajardo, is also a Commissioner under the Florida Commission of Human Relations, serving the people of the State of Florida.
Dr. Fajardo manages the largest Refugee Program in the State, and the largest in the Nation. This program has received several awards of excellence. She serves as a consultant for the State in Refugee Health issues. She has provided leadership in many committees and task forces locally, at the State and national levels. To name a few, Victims of Human Trafficking, Victims of Torture, State Refugee Task Force, Mass Migration.
