Meet Our Leaders
Yesenia Villalta is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who started her career at the Miami-Dade County Health Department in 2003. She is currently the Director of the Women’s Health and Preventive Services Program, which includes several components such as Project Screen, Medicaid Family Planning Waiver, Family Planning Services, MOMmobile and the program’s newest addition the dental program known as “Seals on Wheels” for school aged children.
Before coming to the Miami-Dade County Health Department, Ms. Villalta worked as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in private practice in collaboration with a family medicine physician. The area of concentration while in private practice was adult medicine. Ms. Villalta started her career at the Miami-Dade County Health Department in the Women’s Health & Preventive Services Program where she was the clinic supervisor and clinician for one of the six family planning clinics. She is a member of the Public Health Nurses Association, the Florida Nurses Association and member of Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses

Ms. Villalta completed her undergraduate and graduate studies from the University of Miami, School of Nursing Coral Gables, Florida where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing degree.
