Bioterrorism/Public Health Preparedness Field Exercises, Miami-Dade County
Each year, Miami-Dade County Health Department (MDCHD) employees, along with other local, State, and federal agencies and organizations, participate in field exercises that allow them to test tools needed to implement disease control measures and other activities recommended by the MDCHD bioterrorism response plan. These field exercises train MDCHD employees to respond to acts of bioterrorism, major infectious disease outbreaks, and other public health emergencies. Further, they allow MDCHD officials to test the Department’s capacity to manage public health emergencies and to identify assets required for effective response.
