Chronic Disease Prevention
The focus is on prevention through living a healthy lifestyle that includes good nutrition, exercise and no tobacco use.
Prevention of Chronic Disease

Most chronic diseases can be prevented or the onset delayed through a healthy lifestyle. Healthy lifestyles include the following:

Participate in Physical Activity - Get at least 30 minutes of exercise most days. Sixty minutes is even better. Before you start an exercise program, consult your health care provider.

Don't start using tobacco products or quit if you already do - Tobacco is the leading preventable cause of death and disease in Florida and the United States. One in five deaths in Florida is linked to smoking.

Maintain a healthy weight - Overweight and obesity contribute to many preventable health problems including chronic diseases.
