Mission Statement

"To promote the well-being and development of all employees and effectively manage the human resources, and to protect the interests and rights of the employees and the organization in support of the successful accomplishment of the MDCHD's Mission."

The MDCHD's Human Resources functions provide a variety of services to employees and provide direction and consultation in the areas of Recruitment, Classification, Payroll, Benefits, Equal Employment, and Labor & Employee Relations.

The area of Recruitment includes, but is not limited to advertising positions, participating in job fairs, and facilitating that the best-suited candidate is selected for the position.

Classification is responsible for reviewing, completing, and processing all classification packages submitted to establish, reclassify, and update positions.

Payroll is responsible for ensuring that all employees are properly paid for each pay period. In addition, this area is responsible for maintaining payroll/ leave and attendance records of employees.

The area of Benefits provides employees with pertinent information regarding health insurance and other fringe benefits. This area is also responsible for processing all Workers' Compensation claims and ensuring that employees' disability hours are properly reported.

The area of Labor and Employee Relations provides advise, consultation, and reviews of all workplace issues affecting employees including disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, performance management, investigations, and counseling.
