MIAMI-DADE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARMENT TEAMS UP WITH MIAMI CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL TO OFFER FLU VACCINE FOR CHILDREN

(Miami, January 29, 2013) – The Miami-Dade County Health Department and Miami Children's Hospital are collaborating to open a special flu vaccination clinic for children.
When: Saturday, February 2, 2013
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: Miami-Dade County Fair Expo Center

What: Free flu Vaccines for children 6 months through 18 years old
The best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention over 30,000 people die in the United State every year from complications associated with the flu. Other preventive measures recommended by CDC are: Completely cover nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing to prevent germs from going air borne, wash hands with soap and water or use a hand sanitizer when not available, properly dispose of used tissues, and stay home if you are sick.
Flu shots are available throughout the county at Miami-Dade County Health department Clinics, physicians' offices, pharmacies, walk-in clinics and other health related facilities. To find flu shot location visit www.flushot.healthmap.org.
