The Miami-Dade
County Public School System is the 4th largest school district in
the nation and the largest in the state of Florida. In collaboration
with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Community School Health
Providers, the School Health Program provides school health services
that appraise, protect and promote the health of the students during
their school years Pre-K through 12th grade. The School Health Program
also provides ongoing school health services, regulatory oversight,
quality assurance and technical assistance to the entire school community
both public and non-public. The strength of the School Health Program
is found in its caring, dedicated and competent staff that is making
a positive impact on the health of the students. The School Health
Program takes a leadership role in assessing risk and fostering collaboration
with other programs and agencies to integrate and improve services,
develop policies and provide information about health issues and needs.
