Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic
The Miami-Dade County Health Department (MDCHD) has partnered with Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH) to bring you the Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic. Clients with non-urgent/non-emergent health care issues will be referred from JMH Emergency Department (ED) to the Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic located at the MDCHD Health District Center in Downtown, Miami. All services provided to clients of the Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic are free.
Clients are assessed by a JMH ED clinician and if the client meets all eligibility requirements and is in stable condition, an appointment is made at the Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic. Appointments are given as early as the same day, as available. Clients referred to us must be low-income, uninsured or underinsured. Walk-ins will also be accepted, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. Clients will be seen by a physician or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at the Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic and then linked to a Federally Qualified Primary Care medical home.
The Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic will also be able to provide certain medications to clients, if needed, until they can make their appointments with the primary care facility. The underlying component of the Department of Health (DOH) Emergency Room Fast Track Clinic appointment is linking clients from JMH Emergency Department to a primary care medical home and educating the client on the improper use of the ER for non-urgent/ non-emergent issues. Statistically, it has been found that clients that have a medical home are less likely to incur a costly illness and seek care at a hospital’s emergency room.

- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Minor Health Conditions
The clinic also provides:
- Nutrition Counseling
- Smoking Cessation
- Rapid HIV Screening
- Referrals to Pharmacies that Offer Medications at Low Cost
- Health Counseling and Education including Disease Management

Monday through Friday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
